How we look after your family's information
Your child's reports and details are sensitive. Here's what we collect, why, and how you stay in control, under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

Who is responsible
- Strugglesmart (business registration in progress) is responsible for your personal data.
- Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at hello@strugglesmart.sg.
What we collect
- Your name, email and phone number.
- Your child's first name, school level and exam year.
- Reports and school documents you choose to send us.
- Notes from our sessions and your payment reference.
- If you buy a personalised report: the details you type in about your child, such as age, school level, concerns and a short description. Please don't include your child's full name, NRIC number or school name.
- We collect information about your child only from you, as their parent or guardian, never directly from your child.
Why we use it, and your consent
- To deliver the services you booked, including your written plan.
- To send reminders about your sessions and deadlines, and reply to your questions.
- To confirm payments and keep business records the law requires.
- By booking, you consent to these uses. We'll ask you separately before using your information for anything else.
- We send news and offers only if you've agreed, and you can stop them any time. We never sell your information.
Your child's information
- We treat your child's reports and details as sensitive and protect them more carefully than other information.
- Only the person running your sessions can see them.
- We never use your child's information for marketing.
Personalised reports and AI
- The free roadmap runs in your browser. We don't see or store what you type, and it doesn't use AI.
- If you buy a personalised report, an AI service (Claude, by Anthropic) helps write it from the details you enter. Those details are sent to Anthropic to produce your report.
- We send only what's needed for the report. We don't send names, NRIC numbers or contact details.
- Anthropic may process data outside Singapore. We rely on Anthropic's terms to protect your information to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
- Reports are generated by AI. We look them over before sending, but they are general guidance, not medical, legal or educational advice.
- We ask for your agreement with a tick box before you submit your details. You can withdraw consent by emailing hello@strugglesmart.sg and we'll delete anything we hold. We can't undo a report that has already been generated.
Who we share it with
- A partner psychologist or therapist, only after you say yes.
- Anthropic, our AI provider, for personalised reports only, as described above.
- Service providers that help us run the business, such as email and file storage. Some may store data outside Singapore. We only use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
- Government bodies, if the law requires it.
How we protect it and how long we keep it
- Files are stored in password-protected accounts with two-step login. We don't keep reports on shared or unprotected devices.
- Your child's reports and session notes are deleted 12 months after the exam they were for.
- We don't keep the details you enter for a personalised report once your report has been sent. We delete them from our records and from our AI chats within 30 days, and keep only your email and payment record as the law requires.
- Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.
- You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
- If a data breach is likely to cause you significant harm, we'll notify the Personal Data Protection Commission within 3 days of finding that out, and tell you as soon as we can.
Your choices
- Ask to see the information we hold about you and your child, or correct it.
- Withdraw your consent at any time. We'll explain what that means for any service in progress, then stop using your information.
- Contact our Data Protection Officer at hello@strugglesmart.sg. We'll respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
- If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).
